These are the basic rights of all Americans. Those of us born here in the United States whose relatives past and present shed blood for our independence value and appreciate these sacrifices. Already in our schools implied cultural traditions have been challenged, changed, and placed aside, the pledge of allegiance, prayer, Christmas, Easter. Many children are confused by fall and spring festivals and, without the education of the history and the significance of our cherished traditions, how will they pass these values to the future generation of our country? We will be not be having spring sphere hunts in our house, only Easter Egg hunts. To everyone...Happy Easter and, Passover. And, to those individuals seeking to destroy America...Happy spring sphere hunting.

Palin derangement syndrome

Palin derangers are in a class all their own. Their hate defines them. Each slight, each cut, each lashing against former Governor Sarah Palin makes her stronger. I sincerely hope the derangers will begin to see the real platform of the Palin Governorship, her vision for America and, her integrity as a politician. George Washington resigned as commanding officer of the Army and, after a time was nominated for the Presidency of The United States of America. I have a photograph of the date and place of George Washington's resignation in Annapolis, Maryland. This whole, "Sarah Palin is a quitter," thing has got to go. If Sarah Palin were a quitter, she would be enjoying being a hockey Mom with her children and, melting into a serene lifestyle. She did not retreat into withdrawal or, disappear against the beautiful Alaskan landscape. She continued striving to present her story to the nation. Former Governor Palin's book, "Going Rogue," clearly shows that she is more than a Mother, she is a gifted communicator and politician. She is not a quitter. Give her the chance to prove this to America. She has the gift of leadership which very few of our present day politicians possess. She has the intelligence and talent to handle all of the world's most sensitive world issues. She will be the most active, communicative and decisive President the free world has ever known, given the opportunity. I feel safe knowing a quick study, studious, conscientious individual like former Governor Palin will be at the helm directing, guiding and nurturing this nation. She is a professional, respectable and diligent possessing great dedication, loyalty and strength!!

The Dutch

What a shame. The U.S. has always had a great working relationship with the Dutch.
NASA has worked very well with the Dutch on space programs and, the exchange has always been beneficial for both countries. This President did not have the confidence of NASA from the beginning because of his vocal campaign regarding downsizing and cutting back of the space program. This move sounds very much like his administration. Very unfortunate. I am sure the American voters will make a decision next election regarding our current leadership and, whether his performance is indicative of the views of our country. Thank you Sarah Palin for bringing these issues to the American people for evaluation! Joan D. Towles
